Welcome to the forum, our awesome mangakas

In order to minimize the number of questions to ask in the future, here is a simple guideline to the format and time of manga submissions.
General Requirements1. Formatting---------------------------------------------------------------------------* Format for submission should be manga style, ie. the page should contain panels, and not one image per page and description on the sides. The story should be told by conversation between the characters and side narration. This is not a picture book =)
* Inking and toning is not absolutely necessary, but please make your work clean and neat.
* Words are preferred to be typed, but if you don't have any computer typing software and is confident in your handwriting, it can be handwritten.
* Coloured pages are fine (whew, I admire your patience to colour every page =D)
2. Page Requirements---------------------------------------------------------------------------* The required page size is 450 x 650 pixels. What are pixels? They are the little dots on your computer screen that allows you to view the contents. Please resize your images before submission. Simple programs like Photoshop or MS Paint will be able to do this job.
Photoshop: Image -> Resize -> Image Size (or) Canvas Size
MS Paint: Image -> Stretch/Skew
* There is no memory size requirements for the images, but please keep them small (preferrably below 200kb per page) or your page will load extremely slowly.
* Image file types are preferrable to be .jpg, .png or .gif. Other files are not really necessary, unless you have a specific reason for wanting to keep the layers...? (and I don't think our manga viewer can view any files with layers...)
* If you are submitting a wallpaper, please use one of the standard sizes:
800 x 600 pixels
1024 x 768 pixels
1280 x 960 pixels
1280 x 800 pixels (widescreen)
and try to keep the file size under 250kb (over is alright, but it eats up space and bandwidth)
3. Submission---------------------------------------------------------------------------* A minimum of 10 pages including a cover page is required for every two month's submission.
* Submissions are preferred to be in zip/rar files, but attachments and links are also welcome.
* You can submit your work by e-mail to any staff member or to me at
Ki.Hiwatari@gmail.com* The deadline of submission is on th 10th of every month prior to the month we are issuing the manga. For example, if we are putting up the manga in February, the pages are due on 10 January.
4. General Stuff FYI---------------------------------------------------------------------------* If you cannot meet a certain deadline, please inform one of us
IN ADVANCE (Note: A).
* Please check that your pages are numbered in order when you submit.
* IMPORTANT: PLEASE CHECK YOUR GRAMMAR! It is difficult to edit words on top of images if there are any errors.
5. Mangaka Status---------------------------------------------------------------------------* If you would like to drop out from the group or take a long break (ie, for a year perhaps) please post a note on this forum, or e-mail one of our staff.
* If you decided to discontinue one of your projects before it is finished, please let us know so we can put the appropriate notice in the forum and issues.
* I am sending everyone who has not submitted their work an e-mail on the deadline of every month, but please stick to the deadline by yourself =D If you received one of these "get-yourself-working-now-!!" e-mails please reply to them with your submission or skipping notice because I am not sure if you received the e-mail or not.
Mangakas who have not submitted anything for 3 consecutive times with NO prior note or contact will be assumed to be quitting. If you are on hiatus, please provide the ENDING month/day or you will be considered as quitting as well if you are on hiatus for more than half a year (6 months)* (I hope everyone reads this). Please check the forum at least once a month since things will be mainly posted here (especially any new stuff or announcements). I don't want to spam e-mail boxes and get banned XD
---------------------------------------------------------------------------If you have any other questions, please post here.
Note A: How early is
in advance? It is preferrable to be before the deadline, ie, 10th of each month, and the latest 20th of each month, or... as early as possible so we can find something (hopefully) to fill in your empty space.
